How do I get there?
There are many ways to get to us..
By Rail:
Appleby has a direct line from Carlise, and from Leeds. Taking approx. 40 min from Carlise and 2 hours from Leeds.
The Leeds-Settle line has some of the most beautiful scenery of all British train journeys, and well worth a ride.
By Car:

Coming from Carlise or Penrith take the A66 South bound and turn off to Appleby, head for the centre of town, the Sports Centre is next to the Grammar School, follow the posters and signs on the day!
Coming from Kirkby Stephen take the A66 North bound and turn off to Appleby, follow the road down into town past the river and up the hill to the Grammar School. Follow the posters and signs on the day!
By Horse:
All horses naturally know the way to Appleby, simply saddle up and let your horse lead you there. (Note, approx time taken: anywhere between 12-86 years)

Yes, the event only lasts for ONE DAY! thats 10am-9pm
So if you're traveling from afar you might want to find a place to stay near by if you don't feel like driving home that night.
Its up to you.
But Appleby has some lovely hotels and inns, and villages near by have hostels and camping grounds.
